These Are All The Hidden Features Of The Porsche 911

First introduced in 1964, the Porsche 911 model series has been a choice vehicle for racing teams and car-lovers alike for over 50 years, and for good reason. The car has been a winning steed for years, most recently awarding first place to Ayhancan Güven in the 2025 DTM drivers’ title, Fred Makowiecki in Le Mans 2018, and Patrick Pilet and Nick Tandy in 2020, with the 24 Hours of Daytona

Despite its many accolades, the car is much more than just a racing vehicle. It blends power typically found on the racetrack with comfort, reliability, and design, making it an all-around sturdy option for the luxury car owner.

Porsche recently announced their 2026 model will be hitting dealerships soon, so we’d like to cover its many perks that you should consider before you offer up that credit card.

Mechanical Upgrades

The 911 coupe, convertible, and Targa models will see the return of (rear-biased) all-wheel-drive, known as Porsche Traction Management. These models will also include a 473-hp twin-turbo flat-six engine, an electromagnetically controlled clutch, a sport exhaust system, and upgraded brakes.

Media Upgrades

All 911s will include Dolby Atmos surround sound to their preexisting Bose and Burmester sound systems. Models will also be able to download native software to the car's media system, creating a more user-friendly, cohesive, and reliable driving experience.

Other Fun Features

This is what you came for, right? Luckily for you, Porsche doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the small stuff. For the first time ever, the 911 will implement push-to-start technology, instead of the traditional turn-key option. Furthermore, they’ve included a cooled storage space for smartphones, built-in Amazon Alexa for smart home and in-car features, and different display options for its instrument panel.

For the car’s exterior, new customization options have been introduced. Lightweight carbon fiber options for windshield wiper arms and roofs, customizable rear lighting, an expanded range of exterior colors, turbonite accents, custom stitching and embossing, and even personalized vehicle keys are all available to make the car truly feel like an extension of yourself.

Now Hold On...

Of course, luxury vehicles mean luxury pricing, and we can’t in good conscience send you out into the world without discussing the hit to your wallet. While it's not the most expensive car Porsche sells (Google: 918 Spyder), it’s by no means a small fee.

The cheapest option out of the new 911 models is the basic Carrera, sitting at a measly $135,000 USD. If that’s just too cheap for you, you’re in luck—their most expensive model is the Spirit 70 Cabriolet, which rounds out to $251,000.

Of course, customization options will only add to the total price. You’re looking at an additional nine hundred to eighteen thousand dollars per add-on, depending on what you’re looking for. Certain paint jobs, like the Paint to Sample Plus option, are a whopping $35,000 all on their own.

Regardless, there is a reason these cars are so well-loved, and if you have the money, it might be worth giving the Porsche 911 a shot. Learn why they often get the name of “the true driver’s cars.”
