10 EVs Owners Absolutely Hated & 10 They Would Buy Again

Feel The Power

Electric vehicles are everywhere these days, with big brands revealing their own fully electric models. This can make it hard to navigate the good and the bad, but luckily past owners have made their feelings clear. With that in mind, here are the 20 most disliked and popular EVs around.

1. Tesla Model X

Tesla has recently lost a lot of popularity, contributing to many drivers wanting to sell off or replace their car. All that aside, the X is probably the most impractical of the Tesla cars, and is disliked for its overheating, Android Auto compatibility issues, and reliability concerns.

2. Polestar 2

The 2024 Polestar 2 in particular has made its way onto lists of cars to avoid. This is likely because of a lot of issues including cramped seating, lower-than-average reliability, and stiff handling.

3. Volkswagen ID.4

Volkswagen is evidently more popular abroad than it is in North America, with only the Golf catching eyes this side of the sea. The ID.4 doesn’t exactly help its spotted record though, as past owners complain about poor climate control, terrible battery, and a limited range.

4. Rivian R1S

Rivian is also making waves for all the wrong reasons. While the three-row SUV offers plenty of space for families, it falls short when you consider the awkward performance at high speeds, stiff suspension, and the fact that all of it is so expensive too.

5. Nissan Leaf

What makes this car unsatisfying is everything from the boring infotainment station to the slow charging, to the mediocre driving range. Nissan is known as a budget option, but when it comes to EVs, the Leaf is not the best pick.

8. Hyundai Kona Electric

Where this car really falls short is its lackluster acceleration and slow charging speed. Regardless, Hyundai is known for excellent manufacturing and high reliability, but the Kona Electric isn’t a prime example of this.
