2. The Fast and the Furious Series (2001)

Okay, we couldn’t leave out this fan-favourite movie series, The Fast and the Furious. Since its 2001 release, this beloved franchise has continued to make car enthusiasts squeal with their fancy cars, heart-pumping action sequences, and thrilling races. From American muscle and Japanese tuners to high-end European supercars, we’ve truly seen it all thanks to these films. After all, The Fast and the Furious has some of the most iconic cars in all of cinema, including Dominic Toretto’s (played by Vin Diesel) 1970 Dodge Charger R/T and Brian O’Connor’s (played by the late Paul Walker) Toyota Supra Mk-IV. Although the franchise has become too exaggerated and unrealistic, fans still love heading to the theatres just to get a glimpse of the marvelous cars used in the movie.

3. Cars (2006)

Who said animated movies are only for kids? Pixar’s Cars franchise brings to life a world full of talking cars, offering viewers both entertainment and some pretty neat auto-related Easter eggs that only car enthusiasts can catch. A fun addition to these films is how each character is given a unique personality that matches their make and model - Tow Mater is a bit clumsy but so lovable while the Italian Ferrari supercar, Francesco Bernoulli, is certainly suave and cocky. Don’t feel hesitant to watch this just because it’s considered a “children’s movie”, the Cars franchise is filled with some great racing sequences and shockingly realistic visuals. Before you even know it, you’ll be cheering for Lightning McQueen as he races for the Piston Cup!

4. Le Mans (1971)

For something a bit more realistic, there’s no better movie to watch than the iconic movie, Le Mans. Starring Steve McQueen, also known as the “King of Cool”, this classic movie offers a documentary-like glimpse into one of the most grueling and prestigious races in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Featuring some jaw-dropping driving sequences that spotlight the raw power and beauty of the Porsche 917 and the Ferrari 512, it’s the perfect film for car enthusiasts to sit back with a bowl of popcorn and enjoy.

5. Gone in 60 Seconds (2000)

Nicholas Cage and car lovers rejoice! Gone in 60 Seconds is the ultimate film to enjoy both the great acting of Nicholas Cage and the high-speed action that comes with any great car film. In this particular movie, Cage plays the protagonist Raines, a character tasked with stealing 50 luxury cars in one night to save his brother’s life. Filled with so much eye candy, this movie is a special treat for any fan who just wants to marvel at some fancy cars. Of course, we can’t forget to mention “Eleanor”, the 1967 custom Ford Mustang GT500 who is basically as much of a star as Cage himself in this film. With Eleanor’s chase sequence being one of the most iconic in cinematic history, we can assure you you’ll be on the edge of your seat throughout this film.
